Rumor Roundup (June 17, 2014): Money in the Bank plans, Dolph Ziggler push, Sting DVD, more!

For many fans, reading about rumors -- and trawling the sites that traffic in them -- has become as popular as watching the matches themselves. In this daily column, we take a look at the biggest rumors and weirdest stories being churned out by those pro wrestling "news" sites.

Important reminders: Rumors are "rumors" and not "news" for a reason, folks. That which has not been confirmed as legitimate news or fact will be made clear.

Rumors of the Day:

  • The plan is currently to have a heel win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match at the Money in the Bank PPV. IF this holds true, it would likely be Bray Wyatt, but there's still a chance for Randy Orton, Albert del Rio and Cesaro to be a transitional champion win the match.
  • Not having a chance to win that match is Dolph Ziggler, who has apparently reached the dreaded "Christian zone": he is no longer trusted to stay healthy, and is seen as too much of a risk to get a major push no matter how wonderful his ring work might be.
  • The Sting DVD currently planned by the WWE appears it will be mostly be a compilation rather than a documentary style presentation of his career. While this is based entirely on the planned title, considering that title is "Sting: The Ultimate Collection", that seems like a fairly safe assumption.

  • There are reports of an independent wrestling company that is looking to create their own "WWE Network", as an alternative to iPPVs. It's unclear which organization this was, but if true signals that the Network has -- at the very least -- had an influence on the way wrestling is being presented to fans on a broad scale.
  • Damien Sandow may start appearing alongside what is left of 3MB, as there are reports of him coming out with Hornswoggle and Heath Slater at live events.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such.
