Tyler Breeze's Cageside Evaluation

His name is Tyler Breeze and Cageside Seats readers have reported back on what they love and loathe about one of NXT's top stars. Here's the full evaluation.

WWE.com

First, a quick story by one of our newer Cagesiders, Michael Sweetser:

"Back when Tyler Breeze was Mattias Wild working his way through western Canadian indies, I got to work alongside him as a referee in ECCW. It almost sounds cliché to say but you knew the kid had something – he just carried himself differently than the other indie workers around him, and at a very early time in his career, he had a polish to him that was screaming "Future WWE Superstar. I was afraid that his extremely brief FCW title reign (during his Mike Dalton days) was going to be the height of his developmental run, and I’m so happy that he’s finding such great success in NXT, and hopefully soon, on the main roster as well."

What you loved:

  1. Gimmick - It's old-school, well thought out, and there is 100% commitment to making it work.
  2. Music - Not sure which everyone meant, but there is the older one and the new theme where Tyler Breeze sings along.
  3. In-Ring - Overall he's got a solid moveset and put on a great match with Sami Zayn at NXT Takeover.
  4. Entrance - The presentation of his whole entrance is awesome, the zoom-in to his face, the camera phone, music, titan-tron, it all just works perfectly.
  5. Mic Work - Fantastic on the mic, nails every promo backstage and in the ring.

My favorite comment comes via BryanDanielson'sBeard:

"He had a generic gimmick that wasn’t getting over originally. He then went away and study the art of modeling in the Andes mountains, from the noble Gorgy-Gorgy tribes. There he mastered the powers of such signature moves as the Blue Steel, Magnum and Le Tigre, all made popular from the autobiographical movie ‘Zoolander’. It was here that he earned the title of ‘Prince Pretty’ from the native tribes people. With his training complete he returned victorious to Florida where he has forged a rather successful wrestling career, he is currently first in line to take the title from some Geordie Uggo and has a successful music career to his name…"

What you loathed:

  1. Finisher - Spinning heel kick is no bueno for a finisher.
  2. Roster Call Up - With the recent Kevin Dunn news maybe it's best he stay in NXT for a bit longer.
  3. Injury - In today's rumors article, he broke a finger, and could be out for a bit.
  4. New Theme - A few of you don't like change.

My favorite comment comes via Arai:

"He reminds me of a cat. Like, you’re there to serve him and tell him how wonderful he is and be at his service whenever he wants it, and he can scratch you and meow at you and call you an uggo and you have to put up with it because he’s a cat and you’re a human, so you’re inferior by default. And you should be grateful that he’s even demanding your service, because you’re just so inferior and you should be thanking him for noticing you...I really love cats, OK?"

Onto the poll! With 167 votes, Tyler Breeze's average score is 3.9

Thanks, Cagesiders! Tomorrow's pick is lovely.

Until then!
