Rumor Roundup (May 7, 2014): John Cena-Bray Wyatt plans, Raw script changes, Kurt Angle TV show, more!

How long will Cena and Bray Wyatt be working together? What was Evolution originally supposed to be doing on Raw? Who thought it would be a good idea to hire Kurt Angle for an acting job? Possible answers to these questions in today's Rumor Round-Up.

For many fans, reading about rumors -- and trawling the sites that traffic in them -- has become as popular as watching the matches themselves. In this daily column, we take a look at the biggest rumors and weirdest stories being churned out by those pro wrestling "news" sites.

Important reminders: Rumors are "rumors" and not "news" for a reason, folks. That which has not been confirmed as legitimate news or fact will be made clear. Also, don't let these things ruin your day. It gets better. Lastly, if you want to skim and read only the rumors without surrounding information, that text is in bold.

The Bray Wyatt - John Cena program and you:

According to the dirt screens, Bray Wyatt and John Cena's feud is going to be continuing for the foreseeable future, even past the Payback "special event" next month. Given the concurrent plans to turn the Wyatts face and the Shield heel around the same time as one another, this may even mean that this feud could last until SummerSlam.

IF, and this is a BIG IF, these plans all come together, and Daniel Bryan continues to be seen as worthy enough to headline "special events" like he and Kane did at Extreme Rules, it seems entirely possible -- even though it may not look like it now-- that this could all be hinting towards that rarest of wrestling birds: a John Cena-Bray Wyatt double turn.

The result from the turn would likely be nothing on the level of Bret Hart's transcendent run following WrestleMania 13, and would probably resemble something closer to a self-aware Bo Dallas character for Cena. Further fueling speculation is the way the feud is being booked -- especially after Wyatt started incorporating the lifeblood of Cenation, the tears of children, and Cena began openly asking "why" the WWE universe had essentially fed him to the Wyatts -- with an increased focus on the idea that Cena is feeling (even more) alienated by the majority of fans.

This notion was reinforced by his speech on Main Event this week, where he made it clear that there seems to be a shift towards Wyatt in the WWE Universe, but that he would stay same no matter what while specifically hinting at the way he is marketed and presented. While it's important to note that this is just speculation at this point, all the news running right now seems to indicate a potentially seismic shift in the dynamics of the company.

Random Rumors and NEWZ:

  • Another talent whose future is being increasingly clear is Adam Rose, who is currently not booked to work a match until Payback, likely against Jack Swagger. The feud between Rose, Swagger and Zeb Colter, which began on Monday and spilled on to Main Event Tuesday night, also seems to indicate that Cesaro will be moving on to bigger and better things. Whether or not includes him mercilessly beating Rob Van Dam about the face and head remains unclear, but would be welcome.
  • In what was likely evident to anyone watching, there were a significant amount of changes to the script from Monday night's Raw episode. While Batista and Daniel Bryan's match being nixed was previously reported, it now appears that at some point before the show the plan was for Batista to lose again to Roman Reigns. Also discussed was the idea of having Evolution be timekeepers for the Wyatts-Shield match. Which would have not led to any kind of hilarious predictable interference from the group at all, they pinkie swear.
  • Building on the success of his star-making turns in such cinematic classics as River of Darkness and Death From Above (trailer embedded below, warning NOT SAFE FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION), Kurt Angle is hoping to be a TV star after signing on to do the pilot for a show called "Emergency: LA". Produced by former UK promoter Lee Davies, the show will follow the lives of, you guessed it, various emergency personnel in the Los Angeles area and will also feature the former Mrs. Paul Burchill/Winter, Katie Lea Burchill.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Please remember, these are merely rumors. Try not to take them too seriously, just have fun with them.
