WWE MAIN EVENT RESULTS & LIVE BLOG MAY 6
Geno here.
Broadcast is live.
Dolph Ziggler vs. Jack Swagger
No angles to start the show, just a match between former tag partners.
They had Zeb Colter on commentary and he was taking notes when they cut to him. For some reason, this was endearing. He said he was in a bad mood because of Adam Rose going into business for himself on Raw. But that's the world we live in now, where people just do what's best for themselves.
My ISP is terrible, apparently, because my stream cut out very shortly into all this.
Ziggler was in control early in the match, mostly because Swagger was being an idiot. Dolph hit a dropkick that sent him flying out of the ring, so he went running back into the ring all reckless and got hit with another dropkick.
He did take control shortly after this, however, and powered Ziggler around.
Zeb was great on commentary, claiming Dolph must not be in great shape because he tweaked his knee.
After a big DDT on a comeback from Ziggler, they brought out the Rose Express. This Adam Rose character is supposed to get over as a cool guy with a blow pop in his mouth.
Rose went over to the announce desk and climbed on top to talk to Colter. He grabbed the microphone and called Swagger "Jackie Boy" before saying "it's party time all the time. Don't be a lemon, be a rose bud." Ziggler hit the Zig Zag right after this and got the pin.
Dolph celebrated like he just won the WWE title.
You're the babyface and you won with help. You damn near cheated.
Whatever.
Before Ziggler could leave, Rose got in the ring and told him to wait. "You know what comes with being a rose bud? Everything, Dolph." Then he told a few of the girls to go grind up on Ziggler.
They did so, then they did that weird lap around the ring to end the segment.

Aksana, Tamina, & Alicia Fox vs. Natalya, Cameron, & Naomi
They showed a clip from Total Divas when Natalya got all pissed at Cameron for losing her cat. Back in the ring, Natalya and Cameron were arguing.
But why? Even on commentary, they talked about the cat being found and everything turning out fine.
Anyway, the match started after Cameron flicked her hair in Nattie's face and she had a good sequence with Fox, who is absolutely vicious when she works. The heel team tagged in and out while getting the heat on Natalya in their corner.
The hot tag went to Naomi and she ran wild on Aksana. This included a really great spot where she had Aksana in the ropes and set up like she would powerbomb her but use d the ropes for leverage to just drive her head down.
It was wild.
Shortly after, she hit the Rear View and got the pin.
After the match, Natalya and Cameron argued back and forth with Naomi playing peacemaker.

Goldust vs. Curtis Axel
Goldust was back on his game in this match, working like he did when he first broke back in with his brother and they were tearing the house down as the tag champions. Axel deserves credit, because he was good too, at one point shouting for Goldie to "stay down, old man" when he had him in a sleeper.
Axel was selling big for his babyface foe and it helped to have THE BIG GUY on the outside being his usual maniacal self.
They showed the Rhodes Brothers are still a strong team by having Cody save Goldust from THE BIG GUY late before he hit his finish to get the pin.
Good stuff here.

John Cena was out next for his big response to Bray Wyatt.
He came out talking to the camera, "This is Main Event! This is the WWE Network!"
Thanks for letting me know, John, I thought I was watching Netflix. According to WWE, I am, but better.
They recapped Extreme Rules and the creepy kid surprising Cena into defeat and allowing Bray Wyat's message to escape the steel cage.
Back in the ring, Cena was smiling and thanking the crowd for cheering for him.
"Very interesting tactics from a very interesting man. He tried to turn me into a monster, he's like nothing I've ever seen, and from what I've heard he's got the whole world in his hands."
He said he's been trying to tell us for months that Wyatt is dangerous but he can't stop anyone from following the buzzards and he shouldn't want to. So if everyone wants to join the Wyatt Family, he'll let them go. But when they follow the buzzards, what are you following? And when you follow something, that means you believe in it.
So what do you believe in?
The song? It's catchy and we all love to sing along. But has anyone examined the song and its lyrical content?
Or maybe it's the sheep mask. They're fun enough.
Then there's Wyatt himself, who speaks with charisma and captivates the audience. But has anyone ever listened to what he actually says.
They replayed his promo from Raw when he said the world should be reborn in his image and called himself a god.
Cena said he came tonight with one question: What do you believe in? Because in life if you don't stand for something you are sure to fall for everything.
He can answer that question in a heartbeat. He wears it all over his body. He believes in never giving up. His name is John Cena, he is not a god, he is a man, and he is a man who still believes in respect, in honor, and hard work.
His message is clear as day: No matter what the fight, no matter how high the odds, you never give up. He also understands he may have to fight Bray Wyatt alone but as a man he was raised to fight for what he believes in. In WWE, the competition may change, the color of his shirt my change, and the WWE Universe may change, but his resolve and his message does not.
"Never give up, even if you're the last man standing."
He broke out a towel that said "NEVER GIVE UP" and ended his promo saying that's what he believes in and always will.
End.
