WWE Extreme Rules 2014 results: Bray Wyatt wins, John Cena loses, except not really

Sigh.

The story of the John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt match at tonight's (Sun., May 4, 2014) Extreme Rules event at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey, was that one of the two needed to escape the steel cage to win.

Wyatt, seemingly, had the advantage because he had Erick Rowan and Luke Harper with him and they would provide whatever assistance they could, as needed. That's exactly what they did too, to sometimes silly and oftentimes logic bending results.

They told us in the weeks leading into this that the reason for having this match was Rowan and Harper wouldn't be able to get in. Naturally, Harper got inside by simply climbing over the WIDE OPEN TOP.

To hell with details and cohesive storytelling.

In the end, Cena had all three Wyatt Family members laid out, having defeated them completely. Except when he went to leave the cage, the lights went out and a young boy sang with a gimmicked microphone in an unbelievably creepy spot.

Cena was taken aback, Bray hit Sister Abigail, and all three Wyatt Family members escaped the cage to win the match.

They walked to the back with the child and that was that.
