WWE Extreme Rules 2014 results: Bad News Barrett wins Intercontinental title

And NEW!

Gallo Images

Bad News Barrett defeated Big E clean in the middle of the ring after the Bullhammer finish tonight (Sun., May 4, 2014) at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey, at the Extreme Rules special event.

That makes him the new Intercontinental champion.

The match was good, with Barrett working hard, likely because he knew he was going over. Big E did a great job putting him over. They didn't go too long but didn't go too short either.

The question is where do they go from here? Big E has lost whatever momentum he had from winning the strap he just dropped to Barrett and he could very well fall off the face of the WWE Earth.

Or Universe. Whatever.

The sky is the limit for Barrett,  however, seeing as he's got the backing of the big boss, Vince McMahon, along with a gimmick that really works for him.

Here's to hoping his latest reign with the Intercontinental title is better than any of those that came before it.
