Slapstick Saturday: Hornswoggle joins Baywatch, rescues Santino Marella

Welcome to another edition of "Slapstick Saturday," Cagesiders, where your old pal Hulk Holland pokes fun at every botch, blooper and bomb the world of professional wrestling has ever given us.

David Hasselhoff, a Divas match, and a comedy bit by Santino Marella.

Winning combination!

WWE had "The Hoff" show up on Monday Night RAW back on April 12, 2010, when the organization took a trip across the pond to dazzle pro wrestling fans in London, England. He opened the show in a mock KITT car, a reference to Knight Rider, of course, then continued on later in the show by spoofing his other hit program, Baywatch.

But he was not alone.

The WWE Divas all dressed up like lifeguards and I don't like to complain when beautiful women are in swim wear, but the comedic stylings of Santino Marella was killing the moment. In any case, it was an actual wrestling match, known as the "Baywatch Babe Triple Threat Tag Team Match" starring The Bella Twins, Gail Kim and Kelly Kelly, and the team of Rosa Mendes and Jillian Hall.

See for yourself:

Hoff was the "Special Guest Lifeguard," which makes sense, since someone might be in danger of drowning in the water Triple H spits out from his bottle at every show.

Hornswoggle hit the tadpole splash from the top turnbuckle, but not to hurt Santino, who was serving as special guest referee, but to dislodge a lifeguard whistle that had become lodged in his throat. Keep in mind folks, this was just four years ago (shudders).

Now I can't get that song out of my head. Thanks 'E.
