Rumor Roundup (May 20, 2014): Nation of Domination, CM Punk, Kevin Steen in WWE, KENTA visa, more!

Why does the Nation of Domination rumor seem more possible than ever? How silly will the actual CM Punk rumor be this time? What does the possible WWE signings say about the future talent pool? Possible answers to the question in today's Rumor Roundup.

WWE

For many fans, reading about rumors -- and trawling the sites that traffic in them -- has become as popular as watching the matches themselves. In this daily column, we take a look at the biggest rumors and weirdest stories being churned out by those pro wrestling "news" sites.

Important reminders: Rumors are "rumors" and not "news" for a reason, folks. That which has not been confirmed as legitimate news or fact will be made clear.

Rumors of the Day:

  • The Nation. Of Domination. Appears to be back, as we had previously assumed and had previously been hinted at by Xavier Woods and Big E. This time, Bryan Alvarez is reporting it being discussed backstage, which may mean they are at least talking about it.
  • There was a picture going around Twitter, claiming to be a picture of CM Punk in London. It was, in fact, a picture of CM Punk ... in New York in 2012. Yes, these are the depths the CM Punk rumors sometimes sink to.
  • It appears Kevin Steen is very close to being signed by WWE to a developmental contract. It also appears that Willie Mack is close signing with the company. This, coupled with someone like ACH not being offered a contract and Drake Younger switching to refereeing, seems to support the rumor that the WWE is shying away from cruiserweight for the time being.
  • KENTA has finally commented about the WWE contract situation, by essentially not commenting on it:

"Right now, there is nothing that I can say at this time. I will announce my plans when the time is right for me to announce them."

The reason for the non-answer appears to be tied to him waiting for his visa to be approved. If/when it does, it appears he'll make his announcement.

  • It was rumored that Rob Van Dam's shoulder was hurt, and while tonight's match seemed to involving him not doing spots like Rolling Thunder to protect it, he is still working all his expected live events on the European tour.
  • Several UK talents were reportedly "Rosebuds", including Ayesha "The Female Predator" Ray and Nathan "The Showstealer" Cruz, and others.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them for as such.
