ROH's track record with iPPV is...spotty, at best. They've partnered up with a more established name in UStream this time out, but it will be interesting to see if fans who have been burned in the past by dodgy or outright failed broadcasts will give them another shot. With a move to conventional PPV scheduled for next month, a positive outing here could give them some real momentum moving forward.
Hopefully, folks will be able to see the show (which is sold out at the Ted Reeve Arena) because it's loaded with stars from both companies and should be an exciting night of wrestling with storyline ramifications for the future of both companies. NJPW and ROH will also have a United States show next Saturday (May 17) at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City that will undoubtedly build on the events of tonight.
Here's some a hype video and the always excellent promo from ROH's heel champion for one of tonight's main events:
Both men have been rumored as heading to WWE at various points over the past year, and this might be the last chance to see them face off in the company that has helped create so many top guys for the sports entertainment giant over the last few years.
You can order the iPPV here.
Anybody giving ROH another shot tonight?
