WWE Extreme Rules 2014 betting odds: Evolution favored over The Shield

By now you all likely know that betting in pro wrestling is a real thing that actually happens and while it may seem silly, it's at least worth taking a look at the lines oddsmakers place on major events. What usually happens is odds are first released, the lines hold steady, then late money comes in when the major players at WWE are alerted to the finish and start betting on winners.

For that reason, it should be clear these initial lines don't mean a ton. With that said, Paddy Power has released odds for the upcoming WWE Extreme Rules special event this Sun., May 4, 2014, at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

All things considered, it wouldn't be surprising if each of the favored wrestlers win. Evolution is likely going over The Shield in some sort of screwjob finish, possibly involving Ric Flair, Bryan is almost surely keeping the WWE world heavyweight title, Paige is definitely not losing to Tamina, Cesaro is being pushed right now so he should win, Rusev is working two jobbers, Barrett is in the midst of the post-WrestleMania rub while Big E has fallen off considerably, and El Torito should defeat Hornswoggle because wrestling.

That just leaves the John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt match. Based on how the feud has played out, Wyatt should absolutely go over but this is John Cena we're talking about.

Don't be surprised if he goes over.

And, again, these lines will move a great deal once the finishes are known and those in the know start putting money down. Be on the lookout then.
