As it turns out, the rumors of Undertaker leaving the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, last night (Sun., April 6, 2014) in an ambulance were true. According to reports from those on site, Undertaker was escorted from the arena following his WrestleMania 30 loss to Brock Lesnar for fear of a concussion.
According to the Wrestling Observer, there's also fear of a neck injury.
Dave Meltzer had more:
"I only heard one thing and that was the bump that he took, the one bump outside the ring, that he got knocked out on that bump. The finish was what the finish was. It wasn't like they said, you know, 'we gotta go home early'. They did everything they were going to do, that was the point of the finish, but he does have a possible concussion."
It's difficult to tell at what point the injury happened but after watching the match again, there are multiple points when Undertaker took bad bumps with his head bouncing off the mat. He was also moving incredibly slow throughout most of the match.
As noted by the Observer, however, the finish wasn't changed during the match or anything like that. It was always planned to happen this way and gambling odds turned in Lesnar's favor close to the match.
For its part, WWE has yet to acknowledge Undertaker's injury. We'll keep you updated as more information comes in.
