WrestleMania 30 results: Cesaro wins Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal

An injury replacement won the match!

WWE started a new tradition tonight (Sun., April 6, 2014) at WrestleMania 30 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, with the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, a 30-man over-the-top-rope showcase featuring all the mid-card acts who had nothing better to do at the biggest show of the year.

Congratulations to Cesaro, who won the match and now gets to lug a five-foot trophy around.

Only Big Show and Sheamus got entrances. They did a backstage skit with the cast of Legend's House just before it to give the wrestlers time to fill up the ring. It should also be noted that the three unannounced spots heading into the match weren't given any special treatment.

Christian, who couldn't get cleared for his concussion, was replaced by Cesaro.

The match was your typical battle royal. It was chaos until the ring was cleared out of all the jobbers and wrestlers who never stood a chance to start with. The final four came down to Big Show, Sheamus, Alberto Del Rio, and Cesaro. Dolph Ziggler had a fairly decent showing.

After Del Rio and Sheamus eliminated each other, Cesaro threw uppercuts on Show until the big man took control and seemed poised to win. Then, Cesaro countered and hit even more uppercuts before picking Show up like he would bodyslam him and tossing him over the top.

Awesome!
