WWE Extreme Rules 2014: Daniel Bryan vs. Kane official

It was officially announced on tonight's episode of Monday Night Raw in Baltimore that Daniel Bryan will indeed defend the WWE world heavyweight championship against Kane at the Extreme Rules special event on Sun., May 4, 2014, at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Just after this was announced, they ran an angle where Kane took Bryan out with three Tombstone piledrivers, one on the floor, one on the ring steps, and one on the announce table. It felt like a television write off, likely done to give Bryan at least a couple shows off to deal with the death of his father.

Either way, he'll be back, at the latest, in two weeks for his first title defense.
