Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact; so remember to take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- The WWE Network logo will become the official WWE logo by August, based on statements by Stephanie McMahon. With the "scratch" logo on its way out, Triple H will only have to outlast Big Show to become the last full-time relic remaining from the Attitude Era.
- Thanks to the magic of brand synergy, your child can now go "full John Cena" with jorts finally part of his "Never Give Up" clothing line (sold exclusively at Kmart.)
- Summer Rae and The Miz were both off Raw this week -- and SmackDown this Friday -- because they are off shooting a movie. It seems likely that the Miz would be filming Queen of the Ring, while Summer Rae is hopefully doing a Grease remake with Evan Bourne as Danny Zuko. (Editor's note: Sadly, it's only The Marine 4.)
- Zeb Colter is apparently moving on from "The King of Swing", Cesaro, already. He's put out an open call for a new #RealAmerican. Even if this isn't going anywhere, it's definitely better than him asking if Paige is "legal", which he did on his Twitter account recently.
- Bo Dallas and Adam Rose's debuts seem imminent, as both were added to the Raw roster according to last night's leaked script despite not physically appearing on screen. AJ Lee and Rey Mysterio were listed on the script as "Inj. TBD", along with CM Punk. Whether or not they were all on the Exotic Express remains unclear.
- According to a press release from the WWE, over 1,000,000 people watched WrestleMania. This, of course, includes the 650K+ who bought the Network. Which means several hundred thousand people were willing to pay WWE as much for one night as they refused to pay for six months of content.
