The next pay-per-view (PPV) -- err, "special event" -- on the WWE schedule is the Extreme Rules show set to take place on Sun., May 4, 2014, at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the company's annual post WrestleMania hardcore showcase.
We're three weeks out from showtime and not a single match is official for the card but there are rumors of what it will eventually look like. These are just rumors and this could change, of course.
- Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H (WWE world heavyweight championship)
This would be the return match from WrestleMania except this time the title will be on the line. They booked a title match for Raw this week but had it interrupted by outside workings with Randy Orton, Batista, Kane, and The Shield. They'll all be busy, giving these two time to settle up in the main event.
- Randy Orton, Batista, & Kane vs. The Shield
As mentioned, this would be booked underneath the main event as the supporting match. They've gone about setting this us with The Shield and Kane feuding for some time now and Orton and Batista getting involved just this past week.
- John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt
The rematch from WrestleMania. As Wyatt stated on SmackDown this past Friday night, he knows now he just needs to get more "extreme" to bring the monster out of Cena.
- Cesaro vs. Jack Swagger
This would be booking 101. Cesaro broke away from the Real Americans tag team with Swagger to go off on his own with a new manager, Zeb Colter, the old manager, and Swagger, the old partner, are upset and they run a match. Cesaro, destined for bigger and better things, goes over. Easy peasy.
- Paige vs. AJ Lee (Divas championship)
This was set up when Paige debuted on the main roster on Raw and promptly won the title from AJ in a short match. Here, they'll get more time to put something together after a three-week feud designed to push Paige as the hot young act.
Those are the rumors for the card right now, Cagesiders. Look interesting to you?
