Thanks in large part to the Battle Royal and the Divas Championship Invitational, 59 different performers accumulated match time at WrestleMania 30. And that is not even counting the pre-show performances from Los Matadores, Swagger, Axel, Ryback, and The Usos. Cramming as many performers as possible on to the card seemed to be a high priority for WWE this year.

Miscellaneous Segments

That leaves about 37m 33s (15.9%) of the show for everything else. More than half of this time (19m 16s) was allocated to the opening segment featuring Hogan, Austin, and The Rock. But this also includes other miscellaneous things such as Cole talking about New Orleans, commercials for Diet Dew and Totino's Pizza Rolls, backstage segments featuring WWE legends, plugs for PPV theme songs, a commercial for WrestleMania 31, introduction of French and Spanish announce teams, the Hall Of Fame segment, and so forth.

Last year's WrestleMania 29 included 38m 53s of miscellaneous segments. The overall number is pretty similar for both shows, but last year's event did not include anything like WrestleMania 30's near 20-minute opening segment with Hogan, Austin, and Rock. In place of that, WrestleMania 29 featured a 7-minute performance from Diddy as well as an overload of videos focusing on The Rock and John Cena.

Summary

Here is a listing of how much total show time was allocated for each match when you add up all 3 components: pre-match time, match time, and post-match time.

  • 49m 55s: Undertaker vs Lesnar (21.2% of the total show time)
  • 41m 54s: Triple H vs Bryan (17.8%)
  • 38m 09s: Orton vs Batista vs Bryan (16.2%)
  • 35m 24s: Cena vs Wyatt (15.0%)
  • 17m 10s: Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal (7.3%)
  • 9m 09s: Vickie Guerrero Divas Championship Invitational (3.9%)
  • 6m 16s: The Shield vs Kane and the New Age Outlaws (2.7%)

The 4 most hyped matches took up a total show time of 2h 45m 22s, which is 70.2% of the total show time.

The remaining 3 undercard matches combined took up a total show time of 32m 35s, which is about 13.8% of the show.

The opening segment with Hogan, Austin, and Rock was given more time on the show than any of those individual three undercard matches. That segment lasted for 19m 16s, which is about 8.2% of the total show time.

WrestleMania 29 and WrestleMania 30 featured a very similar overall distribution of time between pre-match, match, post-match, and miscellaneous segments. All of the percentages for these categories at WrestleMania 30 fell within 1.5% of the respective percentages for these same categories at WrestleMania 29.
