In the weeks leading up to WrestleMania 30, coming to you this Sunday, April 6th from New Orleans, there was some question as to which match would end up on the free kick-off show. At one point, even the Hulk Hogan-promoted Andre the Giant Memoral Battle Royal was rumored to serve as the warm-up act and final sales pitch for the show.
With a press release issued by WWE today, we can tell you that the free match will be...non-existent. But there will still be a kick-off match!
The pre-show will for the first time be a Super Bowl-esque two hours long, with the first hour being available on all of WWE's standard media platforms (WWE Network, WWE.com, WWE App, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Pheed) and the second hour, featuring the kick-off match, only available on WWE Network. So, even if you plan to buy The Showcase of the Immortals on pay-per-view from your satellite or cable provider, you'll need a Network subscription to see the kick-off match. Which will be...
The tag team championship Fatal 4-Way between champs The Usos, The Real Americans (Cesaro and Jack Swagger), Los Matadores (Diego and Fernando with El Torito) and Ryback & Curtis Axel will attempt to entice fans that not only do they need to see WrestleMania 30 - they need to see it on WWE Network.
What do you make of this announcement, Cagesiders? Is this the right match to kick off Sunday's festivities? And does making it Network exclusive entice fans to the Network or just hack off Dish Network that much more?
