The next pay-per-view (PPV) on the WWE schedule is the one and only WrestleMania 30 event set to take place on Sun., April 6, 2014, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, the company's annual "Showcase of the Immortals". It's the biggest show of the year.
And it will be the first PPV broadcast live on the WWE Network. Here's to hoping it goes off without a hitch.
After last night's episode of Monday Night Raw in Memphis, the match card is shaping up rather nicely with all the of the top bouts now official. Here's the updated line-up:
- Randy Orton vs. Batista
This match could turn into a triple threat with Daniel Bryan involved. Orton is the WWE world heavyweight champion and Batista won the Royal Rumble after returning from four years away. Then he turned heel after getting a strongly negative reaction from fans everywhere, making this a heel vs. heel match unless Bryan gets in, which is almost surely happening.
- Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H
This match was booked after weeks (months, really) of Bryan campaigning for it. But not only was this match booked after Bryan pulled an Occupy Raw movement, Bryan also demanded that if he wins, he'll be inserted into the main event WWE world heavyweight title match.
- Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar
We still don't know why this match is happening, but it will take place. Paul Heyman did say he's sending Lesnar to break the streak because CM Punk's downfall started after losing to Undertaker at WrestleMania 29 but that was only mentioned once during the promo in Chicago and hasn't been brought up since. So the story is really non-existent. It's just a match.
- John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt
This feud has been bubbling for a few weeks now and it just went official on Raw after Cena laid down a challenge and Wyatt accepted. This after weeks of run-ins and an injury angle and the costing of the WWE title and what not.
- Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal
Hulk Hogan announced this on Raw last night, a 30 man over-the-top-rope battle royal where the winner receives an Andre the Giant trophy. So far, Intercontinental Champion Big E and THE BIG GUY Ryback have entered the match.
That's the card so far, Cagesiders. You buying?
