What was 'Match of the Night' at Royal Rumble 2014 in Pittsburgh?

New, 42 comments

We're late getting to this, but let's decide what match was the best of the night at the 2014 Royal Rumble back on Jan. 26, shall we?

WWE put a bow tie around its Royal Rumble pay-per-view (PPV) event from the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, back on Sun., Jan. 26, 2014, with Batista winning the Royal Rumble match, much to the chagrin of fans at the arena.

Was it the best match on the card?

As you may or may not have noticed, we usually ask this immediately after the event concludes but for whatever reason that didn't happen for this show. And by "whatever reason" I mean I forgot to do it in the madness that was covering all the fallout from the second biggest WWE event of the year.

So let's remedy that now.

There were a few treats to watch on the card that night, like Daniel Bryan and Bray Wyatt dancing for 25 minutes in a great opener or the New Age Outlaws defying Father Time and winning the tag team titles from Cody Rhodes & Goldust on the pre-show.

Sorry again for being late on this!
