Making the case for part timers, using Survivor Series as proof (and the inevitable HATE that follows from the IWC)

Hello again, Cagesiders!

Tonight is the annual Survivor Series pay-per-view (PPV) in St. Louis. While I will be watching, as I always do (even with a mostly garbage card), will you be watching? If so, WHY?

As stated many times over the past few weeks, the build to this year's event has been atrocious. The stipulations added have once again shown that creative consistently books itself into a box. The lack of proper build and screen time afforded any of the other characters not in the main event has again been dismal at best. Yet, I am now excited again for the PPV.

I ask you again -- WHY?

The answer here is simple. Even though it's not going to be anywhere near the time I wanted it, I want to see Sting in a WWE ring. I want to see him receive a nice push and a well earned Hall of Fame induction. I want to see his last match, and for that last match to be in a WWE ring, not TNA.

I am also extremely excited to see where Orton goes from here upon his return. He has been truly doing his best work in years.

I also still have high expectations for Roman Reigns, although he has yet to prove he deserves this, I still see the potential and have faith from viewing some of his older matches that he can right his ship.

So as much as I hate admitting this. I am waiting to "mark" out tonight when Sting debuts. He will most likely be on a very limited schedule for however long he has actually agreed to work with WWE for (I do think he finally signed that contract). Which brings me to making the case for these part time wrestlers sports entertainers.

Would I rather be highly invested in the main event? Yes.

Would I rather be overwhelming enjoying Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt? Yes.

Would I rather be trying to figure out what the cosmic key truly is and if Damien Mizdow was getting the next starring role over the Miz? Yes.

Would I rather be watching AJ Lee vs. Nikki Bella in a 10-15 minute match with it not ending by roll up or outside shenanigans? Yes.

Would I rather be watching a 15 minute classic Survivor Series match highlighting the abilities of the 8 in the match that have them? Yes.

But guess what? None of them have been built or properly positioned to give us these matches. Once again V.D. (Vince McMahon & Kevin Dunn) has struck creative and left us with what seems to be hot garbage.

So I say, as long as V.D. is infecting creatives ability to provide us with proper builds, storylines, and the depth the wrestlers and we, the fans, deserve, PLEASE KEEP BRINGING US PART TIMERS AND RETURNS UNTIL YOU FIND A CURE!
