WWE NXT results, live open thread for October 9, 2014: NXT-i-t-u-s

WWE.com

Here's a place to check results and comment along with the latest airing of WWE NXT in its regular Thursday night at 9PM Eastern time slot on WWE Network (see the first NOTE below regarding broadcast time). We'll have our regular reactions post later, but we'll post match results here. More importantly, this gives you Cagesiders a dedicated place to rave and/or bitch about whatever goes down on the show dedicated to WWE's Florida-based developmental program - as it airs!

Last week, the show was bookended by championship matches and opened with a rematch from Takeover II between Women's champ Charlotte and Bayley.  The hugster still didn't have what it takes to be the queen, but she does have the Nature Girl's respect after gutting it through another grueling bout.  Hideo Itami was supposed to finally get a sanctioned contest against Viktor of The Ascension, but Konnor lead a two-on-one assault before the bell ever rang to get a measure of revenge for the former tag champs.  The Vaudevillains picked up a nice win over Tye Dillinger & Jason Jordan to establish themselves as a tag team to watch out for, and Baron Corbin continued to announce his presence with another quick win using his impressive looking finisher.  The main event, Tyson Kidd's final shot at NXT champ Adrian Neville, almost ended after Titus O'Neil put hands on the champ from his paid seat in the front row of Full Sail Live.  Sami Zayn took care of the main roster Superstar for his friendly rival, who then ended Kidd's championship dreams with a Red Arrow.

This week...O'Neil and Zayn will settle their issues in the ring, and maybe decide who will get the next shot at the Man that Gravity Forgot.  Sasha Banks laid out Bayley backstage and again announced her intentions to take the Women's belt from Charlotte - will B just step out of line and make way for the Boss?  Sylvester Lefort & Marcus Louis claim they're finally going to get back at Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady for the hair removal incident at the last live event, plus the Realest Guys convinced William Regal to give Carmella a tryout (how do I know? I saw it on the NXT Facebook page.  It's where Cass posts all the videos Enzo tells him not to post).   And Funaki has pledged his support to Itami as more than just a translator, so look for an evening of the odds in Hideo's was with The Ascension.

But, why read what I have to say about it when you can listen to a professional voiceover artist promote the show:

NOTE I: WWE Network is scheduled to release the show at 4PM Eastern time again this week, with a re-broadcast at 9PM.  Out of respect for working folks, we'll still update results and treat the evening run as the "live" show for the open thread.  If you watch earlier and want to comment, please treat it the same as you would spoilers, which are covered in...

NOTE II: Spoilers are out there for these pre-taped broadcasts, but yours truly and many of our regulars don't partake.  If you are going to post or discuss spoilers for this show before they happen, or results of future shows, please use the spoiler bar in your comment.

Enjoy the show!
