Rumor Roundup (Oct. 8, 2014): Hell in a Cell, WrestleMania 31 main event, The Rock vs. Rusev, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • For what it's worth, local advertisements in Dallas are now hinting at the loser of the John Cena vs. Dean Ambrose match getting Randy Orton in a second Hell in a Cell match. That's consistent with rumors and reports elsewhere.
  • There was apparently some talk that The Rock interrupting Rusev may have been done to build to a match between the two at WrestleMania 31. That sounds silly and according to Dave Meltzer on his radio show it's unlikely that they were building to anything.
  • Meanwhile, Bryan Alvarez has stated WWE feels they have the main event for WrestleMania 31. No word on what they could be thinking outside of the obvious speculation like Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE world heavyweight championship.
  • Weird rumor going around: The Ascension could be called up and immediately paired with Bray Wyatt.
  • Cesaro vs. Dolph Ziggler in an Intercontinental title match is expected for the Hell in a Cell PPV, and an official announcement should be made by next week.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it.
