Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- The word is the Dean Ambrose vs. John Cena match that was originally announced for Hell in a Cell but took place on Raw last night was never going to happen at the pay-per-view. Everything they've done has apparently been planned as the story they're telling and this is the direction they were always going.
- Regarding Ric Flair and Jake Roberts, it would seem the two were both at the arena during the show but obviously neither appeared on television.
- Hulk Hogan is apparently scheduled to return to WWE for another appearance on Monday Night Raw next week, though it's unclear exactly what he's coming back for.
- There were rumors going around, apparently starting from a report at the Observer, that a Brie Bella vs. Nikki Bella match would be announced for Hell in a Cell and the loser would have to be the other's personal assistant. For whatever it's worth, they were acting like Brie pinning Nikki on Raw last night represented her "getting her revenge", so we'll see where they ultimately go.
- Willie Mack was released by WWE over a medical issue and it's likely he'll end up in Lucha Underground, according to the Wrestling Observer.
