Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact; so remember to take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • While we're still many months away from WrestleMania 30, it's never too early to look ahead to "the grandaddy of them all." While we've previously mentioned that an Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar match would be Taker's preference of match, another being discussed is Undertaker vs. Ryback with Paul Heyman in Ryback's corner. It would build off of WrestleMania 29, where CM Punk, then a Paul Heyman Guy, lost to the Undertaker. Any matchup featuring the Deadman defending his streak of WrestleMania wins, now at 21-0, would require his commitment, which he has not yet given. However, WWE's feeling is that the Undertaker is all but guaranteed to work the event.
  • Might a heel turn be in store for Sheamus? That is said to be the early plan for him when he returns from shoulder surgery, which is expected to be in early 2014.
  • NXT superstar Xavier Woods is reported to be out indefinitely with an undisclosed injury. It has been said that Woods was one of the top 3-5 stars in NXT ready for the main roster.
  • In other NXT news, Diva and former bikini model Christina Vargas has been granted her release by the company. She signed with the company earlier this summer.
  • In a rare move these days, TNA is said to be in the process of acquiring new talent after a series of releases over the past several months has left TNA's roster depth rather thin. In particular, TNA is focusing on replenishing the X-Division, hoping to turn it back into one of the company's strengths.
