Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact; so remember to take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • "Pretty damn slim." Those are the odds of Stone Cold Steve Austin returning to the wrestling ring according to the man himself in a recent interview. The 48 year old Austin mentioned that he "doesn't want to go out there and be 90% of Stone Cold." He also noted that he has been out of wrestling for 11 years, and that the longer he stays out, the less likely he is to return.
  • According to those in attendance, CM Punk's celebration in his hometown of Chicago, IL continue after Raw went off the air. One the cameras stopped rolling, Punk reportedly came down to the ring to join Daniel Bryan in his "YES!" chants. Eventually Bryan left and a fan threw a White Sox jersey into the ring. Punk threw it back while laughing, then another fan threw in a Blackhawks jersey, which Punk put on. Curtis Axel and Ryback then came down to the ring, but Punk was able to fight them off before hitting a GTS on Axel to send the crowd home happy. Also, in expanding Punk's list of nagging injuries, he is reportedly dealing with an elbow injury in addition to knee and ankle injuries, both of which were taped for Monday's Raw.
  • With Jim Ross "retiring" from WWE, he has left a void behind in NXT where he served in a talent development role with the future stars of WWE. Now, rumors are circulating that former WWE superstar William Regal is set to step into that role.
  • Though it covers 30 years of WrestleMania history and has one of the largest rosters ever, one notable absence has some fans upset over WWE 2K14. Rowdy Roddy Piper is not in the game, though WWE wanted him there. They reached out to Piper but were unable to come to terms on a deal.
