WWE Main Event spoilers and open thread for Sept. 18

We've got spoilers and an open thread for tonight's (Sept. 18, 2013) episode of WWE "Main Event" from Cincinnati, Ohio, featuring Curtis Axel vs. Dolph Ziggler, and much, much more.

WWE Main Event comes waltzing back into our lives tonight (Sept. 18, 2013) at 8 p.m. ET on ION Television from Cincinnati, Ohio. As per usual, this episode was taped on Tuesday prior to the Friday Night SmackDown tapings.

In lieu of a live blog, we're going to hit you with spoilers for tonight's show while also providing an open thread for discussion once the broadcast goes live.

- Curtis Axel def. Dolph Ziggler but that's not the notable thing here. The notable thing here is Ryback and Paul Heyman were ringside and "Big Hungry" interfered in the match to ensure Axel's victory. Interesting.

- It was announced that Daniel Bryan will face Randy Orton for the vacant WWE championship at Battleground on Oct. 6 in Buffalo.

- Kofi Kingston def. Fandango, which is an interesting decision considering the events of Monday Night Raw. Fandango finally finished a match, pinning R-Truth clean while Kofi was the lone babyface who was taken out by The Shield during the big melee to end the show.

- Damien Sandow def. Justin Gabriel, presumably to meet the quota of Gabriel working in the last match on Main Event and Gabriel losing in the last match on Main Event.

Enjoy the show!
