Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact; so remember to take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Dean Ambrose recently gave an interview to a newspaper in his hometown of Cincinnati, OH, and for the most part, it was pretty tame. He did reiterate what his top professional goals were: becoming WWE champion and "the top villain in the industry."
  • As we mentioned previously, NXTer Sami Zayn had his main roster debut at this past weekend's house shows. The crowd reaction he received was well beyond all expectations and apparently made an impact on those backstage. It is being said that he is in the clear top position to be the next NXTer called up to the main roster, and it may happen sooner rather than later.
  • Rey Mysterio is said to be set to return to WWE television any time now, but a decision has been made to have him make his return when WWE heads to Mexico for a tour in mid-October.
  • Speaking of delayed returns, Santino Marella had also been cleared to return for quite some time before actually making his comeback on Monday's Raw. WWE is said to have wanted him to return in his (actual) home country to get the biggest pop possible, which is likely what they're doing with Mysterio above.
  • It has been stated that the two members of 3MB who will be participating in the "tag team turmoil" match on the "kickoff" to Night of Champions will be Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal. Drew McIntyre has been limited lately with a wrist injury, but says that he will be back to 100% soon.
  • TNA's 500th episode of Impact will air on November 7. TNA officials are said to be working to make it a big event, much as WWE did with their 1000th episode of Raw.
