Wrestler Wrankings™: 2013-14 Season, Week 13

Randy Orton is billed as "The Apex Predator of the WWE." Is he ready to assume that status in the Wrankings as well? You seem to think so!

Last week I asked you who would win the 2013-14 Wrestler Wrankings Championship. Thanks so much for sounding off in the Reader Poll! Here's the quick and dirty results:

Randy Orton 22%

Sheamus 15%

Daniel Bryan 11%

Alberto Del Rio 11%

John Cena 8%

Curtis Axel 6%

CM Punk 6%

Christian 4%

Dean Ambrose 4%

Chris Jericho 2%

Dolph Ziggler 2%

Big E. Langston 2%

Heath Slater 2%

According to this data, Randy Orton should soon assume a position on the Wrankings that resembles his predator status in the WWE. I'm not sure I agree with my readership (I personally voted for the emotional powder keg that is Daniel Bryan) but it's certainly a live possibility.

Randy Orton is already a likely first-ballot Hall of Famer for his exploits as The Legend Killer, the young gun in Evolution, the leader of Legacy, and as John Cena's primary foil for the second half of last decade. Even in what might be considered a down year, Orton came in a solid ninth in last year's Wrankings and that was without holding any title the whole season! Simply put, Randy Orton can defeat anyone on any given day which cannot be said of any but a handful of WWE wrestlers on the current roster. That alone makes him a strong pick to take the 2013-14 Wrankings Championship. Nice pick, readers!

Meanwhile, the more things change, the more the stay the same as evidenced by the new chart-topper in this week's Wrankings. Let's hope that assuming the Wrankings crown makes Sheamus more interesting and charismatic than when he usurped his King of the Ring tournament win. Long live the King!
