Wrestler Wrankings™: 2013-14 Season, Week 15

Is WWE mishandling Daniel Bryan? Plus, the weekly scoreboard for the world's purest form of sport!

Sometimes I just don't understand professional wrestling.

Daniel Bryan is the hottest wrestler in the world, bar none. He's reportedly uninjured and clearly raring to make a big splash in the business. Furthermore, there is a litany of great talent for him to wrestle on any given night. Names like Chris Jericho or RVD, Dolph Ziggler or Sheamus, or any one of a number of notable stars on the current WWE roster.

Why then was Daniel Bryan not even booked on this past week's RAW show?

Even if the goal is to market only the most popular wrestlers rather than those that enjoy the most success in actual wrestling competition (this is a business after all, in addition to a sport) Bryan is also perhaps the most popular wrestler in the world at this time. Just look at the reaction that he got once Cena announced him as the #1 contender!

Luckily the good folks in at the Barclay's Center were able to see their hero once Cena made his SummerSlam opponent choice. Had Cena picked someone like Great Khali or Sin Cara, Bryan wouldn't have made an appearance on the show at all! And don't even get me started about Bryan having to stand behind all the taller superstars during the Cena segment. That's just bad planning!

Kudos to John Cena for making the popular and correct choice for his upcoming title defense and congratulations, of course, to Daniel Bryan for reaching the precipice of immortality! YES!
