Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact; so remember to take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Sheamus is currently dealing with an upper thigh injury he suffered during the Money in the Bank ladder match on Sunday (July 14) night. He posted a picture of the injury on Twitter showing his thigh bruised and swollen to become "double" normal size. (I'll let you look it up at your own discretion.) He was held out of action on Raw but is not expected to be out long. That brings the (known) injury count for the Money in the Bank matches to six. CM Punk, Rob Van Dam, Cody Rhodes, and Randy Orton all suffered lacerations, while Christian split a tooth and Sheamus suffered this thigh injury. (Next time someone calls wrestling "fake," make sure to remind them that it's only "scripted.")
  • You may know that Daniel Bryan's planned match with Wade Barrett on Monday's (July 15) Raw was canceled. Now we have the exact numbers: Bryan/Barrett was scheduled for 10 minutes, with Jericho/RVD schedued for 14. When Heyman/Punk's segment went 4 minutes over their allotted time, Bryan/Barrett was canceled completely and their remaining 8 minutes were added to Jericho/RVD, giving them a total time of 22 minutes.
  • To clarify some misconceptions that have been going around, Ultimate Warrior has not signed a contract with WWE. He did sign a contract with 2K Sports to promote WWE 2K14. It is believed that a deal is in the works with WWE, possibly bringing Warrior back to television and possibly into the WWE Hall of Fame. In recent interviews, Warrior has stated that he is open to the idea of returning to WWE and WWE has reportedly wanted to get him back into the fold for some years now, but a number of obstacles have stood in the way.
  • TNA has released several unnamed employees from their production staff in the last couple of weeks. It is believed that more releases may be coming, including both on-screen talent and regular staff. (I guess that makes Anderson the new VP?)

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Please remember, these are merely rumors. Try not to take them too seriously, just have fun with them.
