WWE Championship Money in the Bank Ladder Match
CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan vs. RVD vs. Randy Orton vs. Sheamus vs. Christian
It's the annual showcase ladder match that will determine a future challenger to the WWE championship. This one is entitled "All Stars" and features all the biggest names on the roster they could cram in who weren't busy with other things.
The Road to Money in the Bank
It's quite simple, really: Vickie Guerrero was pressured by Vince McMahon to come up with something exciting and her response was to book an "All Star" WWE championship Money in the Bank ladder match.
That's how we got here.
There were a few instances, namely the go home shows of Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown, that saw specific reference to the briefcases, mostly because they were hanging above the ring as a reminder.
Daniel Bryan grabbed the contract on Raw while Orton was the one left holding it to close SmackDown. Outside of that, this match doesn't need a lot of hyping to build to it. It holds up on its own just fine.
What's at Stake?
A guaranteed shot at the WWE championship at any time of the contract holder's choosing over the next calendar year. That means one of these wrestlers could win and turn it into a gimmick, as so many others have done before.
Or they could do like John Cena: Win the contract and announce ahead of time the date and place he will be cashing it in for a title match against the champion at that time.
This time around, it's likely Cena will be the man holding the belt trying to fend off whomever the challenger will be of the six men reaching out with fingers extended as far as they will go, trying to grab that imaginary brass ring.
Briefcase. I mean briefcase ... of course.
Stay tuned.
