Slapstick Saturday: Ryback gets punched in the face for eating a Rice Krispies Treat

Welcome to another edition of "Slapstick Saturday," Cagesiders, where your old pal Hulk Holland pokes fun at every botch, blooper and bomb the world of professional wrestling has ever given us.

Ryan Reeves, working under the handle "Ryback," has been a mainstay in the WWE main event scene for the better part of 2013, thanks to his ability to catch on with pro wrestling fans using a formula that consists of power moves and an easy-to-remember catchphrase.

Feed. Me. More.

Well, it's not just jobbers like Stan Stansky he's hoping to devour. Ryback will actually eat anything in sight, thanks to an insatiable appetite that is likely fueled by his enormous frame. It takes a lot of calories to keep that wagon filled and well, some folks just can't understand it.

Like Bill DeMott.

The former WCW star was charged with keeping watch over Reeves when he was a contestant on Tough Enough, the WWE reality show designed to produce the industry's next big star. Big as in popular, not big as in "I will keep eating until I explode."

Al Snow explains:

"It's kind of become a running joke with Bill DeMott. Every time he looks over, he sees Ryan Reeves eating. We're in the airport and he's eating a Rice Krispies Treat. Bill threatens him, because he's just seen Ryan eat a month's worth of groceries. He's sitting there with a bag full of Rice Krispies Treats and Bill says, 'If you put that in your mouth, I'm gonna punch you.' He puts it in his mouth, Bill hits him in the face. Most people would have wrapped it up and put it in the bag. Ryan gets up and we watch him as he goes past on the moving sidewalk this way, then that way. And he's eating all the Rice Krispies Treats in the bag as fast as he can before Bill gets up and chases him."

Can't fault the man, he loves Rice Krispies Treats.

How hungry Ryback is to win a title remains to be seen. He came up short earlier this month at Payback and will have to figure out a way to work himself into the World Heavyweight Championship scene now that John Cena is wrapped up with Mark Henry.

Who may be the only man on the roster capable of eating as much as Reeves can.
