Did Ziggler wrestle at this weekend's house shows? Notes on Bray Wyatt performances and entrances, Zack Ryder note, and more!

Something in the works for Zack Ryder?
Something in the works for Zack Ryder?

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact; so remember to take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • While he has been cleared to wrestle, World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler was not in action at this past weekend's (June 7-9) house shows despite being advertised for them. His return to the ring is expected to happen on tonight's (June 10) Raw.
  • In a couple of other interesting notes from house shows this past weekend, Bray Wyatt is taking on some main roster superstars and winning. This past weekend, he defeated both R-Truth and Zack Ryder clean with his "family" at ringside. Wyatt's entrance has been played with recently as well. Now, prior to entering, his "family" vignette plays as Wyatt asks the fans if they "want to see something scary." Wyatt then enters with Erick Rowan wearing his infamous goat mask. It sounds like the "creepy" factor will be in full effect once the Wyatt Family hits live TV.
  • Additionally, something must be in the works for Zack Ryder, as he defeated Antonio Cesaro in a lengthy (and reportedly quality) match before then defeating Brad Maddox in an impromptu match at a different show. Ryder has changed up his ring gear and is growing his hair out, but claims that this isn't part of any type of push or angle. Speaking of Maddox, he was also defeated in similar fashion by Mason Ryan, who was working with the main roster this past weekend.
  • We know now that Kurt Angle will be the second inductee into the TNA Hall of Fame, and, in keeping with the recent rumors that Angle would one day like to return to WWE, tweeted the following about making it into the WWE Hall of Fame one day as well:

"I've Been Inducted in Every Amatuer [sic] and Pro Hall Of fame. Except Wwe and that is Next. I Will Be the Only One. :) it's in Honor in TNA. But WWE Needs to Give Me My Props. We Will See Someday. Much Love."

The tweet was later apparently removed.
