Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we will be taking a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact; so remember to take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • As seems to be the case prior to every pay-per-view (PPV,) there are some backstage complaining about the set up for the under card for WrestleMania 29. The general complaints seem to be pretty standard compared to what we've heard with each prior PPV: haphazard setup and not enough time to properly develop the feuds. In particular, plans from a few weeks back for Antonio Cesaro to defend his United States title against R-Truth have apparently been scrapped, leaving Cesaro and the U.S. title off the show entirely.
  • Christian, who was cleared to wrestle prior to Elimination Chamber, is believed to be making his return soon after WrestleMania 29. WWE brass seem to consider Christian a "steady hand" who can put on quality matches and will likely be a welcome addition to the struggling mid-card. (Would it have been so bad to bring him back to put over Cesaro at 'Mania? Better than the nothing either of them is doing right now.)
  • Despite being a full hour in length, there has still only been one match officially set for the WrestleMania 29 pre-show (Wade Barrett vs. The Miz for the Intercontinental title.) It is possible that another match will be moved to the pre-show. Currently, WWE is expected to spotlight "interactive social media" during the remaining time.
  • As we noted yesterday, Rey Mysterio was backstage on Monday night's (April 1) edition of Raw. He has not yet been cleared to wrestle and was meeting with WWE doctors.
