Cesaro works as a face, time table for Rey Mysterio's return, Zack Ryder note, and more!

Cesaro working as a face?
Cesaro working as a face?

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we will be taking a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact; so remember to take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • While it is hardly the "rebirth" that many smark fans are hoping for Antonio Cesaro, reports from an April, 21 house show from Geneva, Switzerland state the he worked as a face in front of his home country fans in a match against William Regal. It isn't unheard of for WWE to let heels work as faces in front of their home crowds (at least at house shows), so it probably doesn't mean anything in the long run. Still, it's fun to ponder, "What if...?"
  • The possible time frame for a return of Rey Mysterio is becoming clearer. He has missed the last several months dealing with a "family issue" and knee injury, but is once again being advertised for shows following July's Money in the Bank pay-per-view.
  • Zack Ryder has continued to exhibit a "more serious" character at the various shows on the WWE European tour. This started on Monday night's (April 22) Raw with Ryder wearing fewer props to the ring and no longer spiking his hair.
  • Jake "The Snake" Roberts is, by all accounts, getting himself cleaned up and his life back together while working with Diamond Dallas Page. His next goal? To win the Royal Rumble and main event WrestleMania, at least according to a recent interview he gave. While that would be considered a long shot to happen, an appearance by the cleaned-up Roberts in next year's Rumble would probably be a nice bone to throw the older fans.
  • TNA has launched their WrestlingKnockouts.com website devoted completely to, what else, their Knockouts. The site comes complete with blogs, pictures, and just about anything else you can think of related to TNA's female wrestlers.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Please remember, these are merely rumors. Try not to take them too seriously, just have fun with them.
