Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we will be taking a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact; so remember to take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • The main event for next week's (April 29) Raw has been announced. John Cena will team with his Extreme Rules opponent, Ryback, to take on The Shield. (The two, along with Sheamus, last lost to The Shield at Elimination Chamber in February.)
  • Narrowing down the time frame for CM Punk's possible return, he has been removed from all showings through May 20. He is still advertised for the May 27 edition of Raw, as well as all of the summer pay-per-views (Payback, Money in the Bank, SummerSlam.)
  • Speaking of returns, it is believed that Chris Jericho will be working a nearly full time schedule once his band, Fozzy, finishes up their tour in early May. Their next tour isn't scheduled to begin until August.
  • If you found it a little odd that the Bella twins, Nikki and Brie, were missing from Raw's Diva Battle Royal on Monday (April 22,) you're not alone. It turns out they were attending an E! "Upfront" party with Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte to promote the upcoming Total Divas reality show. Their absence was explained in kayfabe by stating they were disqualified from the battle royal due to their shenanigans the previous week in a match with Kaitlyn.
  • As you may have heard, WWE will be opening a training center in Orlando, FL. Orlando is also a popular pick for the location of a physical WWE Hall of Fame. However, if Triple H has any say in the matter (and, as COO, he probably does,) the Hall of Fame would be located in Connecticut, where the WWE headquarters are located. He stated as much in an interview with the Daytona Beach News-Journal.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Please remember, these are merely rumors. Try not to take them too seriously, just have fun with them.
