Hello, Cagesiders! Welcome to the thirteenth Cageside Seats Week in Wrestling of 2013!

What happened last week? Find out below, Cagesiders.

WWE

Raw (Mar. 25th)

  • The show started with a CM Punk and Paul Heyman promo where they continued to disrespect the urn and vowed to end the streak at WrestleMania 29. The lights went out and when they come back on The Undertaker is beating up Punk, but Heyman managed to escape with the urn. Punk eventually broke free, joined Heyman on the stage and taunted The Deadman with his urn again.
  • Chris Jericho interrupted Fandango saying his name and ran him off.
  • Chris Jericho submitted Dolph Ziggler (with AJ Lee and Big E Langston) with the Walls Of Jericho. After the match, Langston laid out Jericho with the Big Ending, which was the cue for Fandango to return, dancing around the ring with his female dance partner and finishing Jericho off with a superkick and a top rope legdrop whilst screaming "Say my name!"
  • The Shield attacked Sheamus while he was doing an interview with Matt Striker. Randy Orton tried to make the save with a steel chair, but gets overcome by their strength in numbers. It was only when The Big Show arrived on the scene that the mercenary trio retreated.
  • In a handicap match, Mark Henry beat The Usos when Henry pinned one of them with the World's Strongest Slam.
  • In a non-title match, WWE United States Champion Antonio Cesaro beat Alberto Del Rio by count-out when Jack Swagger slammed Ricardo Rodriguez's ankle into the barrier and Del Rio got counted out of the ring when he took care of Swagger with a superkick. After the match, Del Rio attacked Cesaro and locked him in the armbar.
  • In a non-title match, WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No of Kane & Daniel Bryan defeated The Prime Time Players of Titus O’Neil & Darren Young when Kane pinned Young with a chokeslam. After the match Hell No taunted Dolph Ziggler, Big E Langston and AJ Lee who had tried to distract them during the match.
  • In a short and to the point interview, Triple H told Brock Lesnar that "I am not coming to WrestleMania to wrestle, I am coming to kick your ass." He then kicked Wade Barrett in the balls as he was coming down to the ring for the next match.
  • In a non-title match, The Miz submitted Wade Barrett with the Figure Four.
  • The Shield of Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose defeated The Great Khali, Zack Ryder & Justin Gabriel when Rollins pinned Gabriel with a top rope kneedrop to the throat. After the match, The Shield hit the triple powerbomb on Khali, before Sheamus, Randy Orton and The Big Show encircled the ring and got the better of the heel triumvirate in a brief brawl.
  • Chris Jericho was shown leaving Vickie Guerrero's office and told Josh Matthews that he would be facing Fandango at WrestleMania 29.
  • Team Rhodes Scholars of Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow (with The Bella Twins) defeated Brodus Clay & Tensai (with The Funkadactyls) when Rhodes pinned Clay with the Disaster Kick after The Bellas got into a catfight with The Funkadactyls at ringside.
  • In a handicap match, Ryback defeated 3MB of Heath Slater, Drew McIntyre & Jinder Mahal when Ryback gave both Slater and Mahal the Shellshock at the same time, and he pinned Slater for the victory.
  • In a non-title match, AJ Lee defeated Kaitlyn by count-out when AJ dodged a spear on the outside and Kaitlyn crashed into the barricade.
  • Jerry "The King" Lawler hosted a Hall Of Famer Q&A session with John Cena and The Rock. On the panel were Bret Hart, Dusty Rhodes, Mick Foley and Booker T (replacing an ill "Nature Boy" Ric Flair). Cena asserted that The Great One knew nothing about failure, but Rock countered with the usual stories of starting his career broke and how the fans used to chant "Die Rocky Die". The two then professed that they respected the other, Rock for Cena taking last year's loss like a man, whilst Cena praised how Rock came back after WrestleMania 28 to become the WWE Champion. Cena then claimed that he would win this time around because he beat himself last year by getting cocky, he won't make the same mistake again and that they both know he's better than The Rock, who disagreed by stating that Cena can't beat the man because he isn't the man. Asked what they wanted to happen on April 7th, Cena said he wanted to haunt The Rock with a loss at WrestleMania, whilst The People's Champion hoped for a repeat performance. The show ended with Cena going for the AA, but Rock slipped out and hit the Rock Bottom before mocking his opponent by parodying his "You Can’t See Me" hand gesture.

NXT (Mar. 27th)

  • WWE Divas Champion Kaitlyn pinned Natalya with the Spear. After the match, the women shook hands and hugged.

  • In their patented shaky cam video vignette, The Shield vowed to sacrifice Sheamus, Randy Orton and The Big Show at WrestleMania 29, and that the revolution begins on April 7th.
  • John Cena did a promo mixing childish insults about interviewer Tony Dawson's attire and reiterating his more serious claims about how his life crumbled last year, The Rock has never failed at anything and how WrestleMania will be his chance at redemption.
  • Big E Langston vs. Conor O'Brian was announced for next week.
  • Kassius Ohno attacked announcer William Regal from behind. It took four referees to pull him off Regal and as he's dragged backstage he screams "Who do you think you are?" at the downed commentator.

  • Kane pinned Antonio Cesaro with the chokeslam when AJ Lee's attempted distraction failed.

  • Kofi Kingston pinned Primo with the Trouble in Paradise.
  • Natalya submitted Aksana with the Sharpshooter.

Smackdown (Mar. 29th)

  • The Rock opened up the show in a segment where he talked about growing up in Hershey, PA and rolled out his old catchphrases for cheap pops, until John Laurinaitis made his return by interrupting The Great One, who wanted to be in Rock's corner at WrestleMania 29 and get revenge on John Cena for being the person responsible for his firing. The Rock shook Laurinaitis' hand before hitting a spinebuster and the People's Elbow on him, and telling Cena that "come WrestleMania, your candy ass is going down again".
  • In a non-title match, Chris Jericho pinned Wade Barrett with the Codebreaker after Barrett exchanged words with special guest colour commentator The Miz. After the match, Jericho made fun of Fandango's name again, who came out and teased going after Y2J, but instead he spun back around with his female dance partner and headed back up the ramp way.
  • Paul Heyman did an interview with Josh Matthews where he claimed Brock Lesnar would crush Triple H at WrestleMania and force him into retirement.
  • In a weightlifting contest, Ryback defeated Mark Henry by disqualification when Henry choked out Ryback with the weightlifting bar.
  • Daniel Bryan & Kaitlyn defeated Dolph Ziggler & AJ Lee when Kaitlyn pinned AJ with the Spear. Afterwards Team Hell No mouthed off at Ziggler & Big E Langston.
  • In another shaky cam video, The Shield claimed that Sheamus, Randy Orton and The Big Show would choke on their cliches that they can put aside their differences and work together to fight a common enemy, and that they would fail like everybody else at WrestleMania 29.
  • Jack Swagger went to a double count-out with The Great Khali when Swagger locked on the Patriot Lock on the outside and wouldn't let up. After the match, Swagger slammed Hornswoggle into the barricade and stomped a mudhole into him. Then Ricardo Rodriguez came out on crutches to distract Swagger, allowing Alberto Del Rio to attack him from behind before locking on the cross armbreaker. Later, Del Rio took a swing at Swagger with one of Ricardo's crutches, but he ducked it and fled with Zeb Colter to the back.

TNA Impact Wrestling (Mar. 28th)

  • The Open Fight Night show started with a confrontation between newly crowned number one contender Jeff Hardy and Aces & 8s. Hardy eventually had enough of the insults and attacked Mr. Anderson, which almost led to the heel gang taking him out, but Kurt Angle, Eric Young, Samoa Joe and Magnus sent them packing. This led to Hardy challenging Anderson to a match for later on in the show.
  • Chavo Guerrero & Hernandez defeated Bad Influence to become the number one contenders to the TNA World Tag Team Championships when Chavo pinned Christopher Daniels with the Frog Splash.

  • Matt Morgan told Sting as he left the building that this was another Hogan mistake.

  • Mr. Anderson defeated Jeff Hardy by disqualification when Hardy hit Anderson with the hammer that one of his opponent's Aces & 8s comrades had attempted to sneak in to him. After the match, Bully Ray saved Anderson from Hardy flying off the top of a ladder and breaking him through a table. Hardy then picked his stipulation for the April 11th rematch with Ray: "No rules.
