Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we will be taking a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact; so remember to take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Shawn Michaels might be returning to the ring, at some weekend house shows in Utah and Canada May 24-26. Michaels is being advertised for those shows while perennial WWE workhorse John Cena is not. There is no word yet on why Cena won't be there, or why the fully retired Michaels has been chosen to take his place, but if you live near Maverick, UT or Regina, Red Deer, and Lethbridge in Canada and would like to see "HBK" grace the wrestling ring once more, you may want to buy a ticket. Michaels has also confirmed this via Twitter. Also being advertised around that same time period are returns of the New Age Outlaws and Chris Jericho, so it is possible that this is a stunt to boost attendance and feature more top talent, similar to how WWE is using Undertaker outside of WrestleMania season and has moved some of Brock Lesnar's scheduled dates around.
  • On the other end of the retirement spectrum, (for anyone still concerned even after WWE COO Triple H swore he'd never let Mick Foley wrestle in WWE again,) Foley himself has now confirmed that he has performed his last wrestling move in an interview. Foley had teased stepping back in the ring from time to time, but this should put an end to that.
  • As WWE tours Europe, it appears that perennial CSS-favorite William Regal is back in ring action. It is unknown if he will appear on television, but it appears that he is at least performing at the UK house shows.
  • In more news out of the European house shows, it appears that John Cena and Ryback are gearing up for their likely "Extreme Rules" match for the WWE title at the titular pay per view in May. Their first match was a tables match which Cena won. Reports from the show stated that it was pretty underwhelming and lasted less than 10 minutes.
