On April 1, 1990, the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) blew the roof off the SkyDome in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with WrestleMania VI in front of 65,000+ fans, who turned out to see "The Ultimate Challenge."

In a feud that had been brewing since the 1990 Royal Rumble, Intercontinental Champion The Ultimate Warrior challenged World Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan in a "champion vs. champion" match for all the marbles on the grandest stage of them all.

It was supposed to signify the passing of the torch, as Hulkamania stepped aside for the new generation, the future "One Warrior Nation." Things didn't exactly pan out, but there's no denying just how insane the anticipation was behind this match-up at the time.

The match itself, considering it was contested between two guys who couldn't work, was actually pretty good, even with it lasting over 20 minutes. Lots of near-falls, ref bumps, psychology, etc. -- and the finish was exactly the way it needed to happen.

See it all go down, right here:
