Doing something a bit different today, follks; we're going to be Precapin' Main Event! They might as well call my Pre. J. Bradford. Let us know how you enjoy it in the comments below, or any suggestions you have about the format. Right now, though, lets get right into it!
Cody! Sandow! Death! To! Tag Teams!
On last Friday's SmackDown (Feb. 1), the saddest thing in the entire history of ever occurred; Team Rhodes Scholars come to an end. Yes, dear Cagesiders, many a tears were shed at this most depressing news. I, for one, did not know if life was even worth living anymore.
Oh those were dark, dark days.
But there was hope! Damien Sandow, in his infinite enlightenment, knew the perfect words to calm my agitation. As Albert Camus once said;
"Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend."
Wise, wise words indeed.
So Rhodes Scholars may be no more, but Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes will forever share an unbreakable bond. 'Tis a bond of friendship, of brotherhood, of two souls so intertwined that they become indivisible.
Oh, my sweet Cagesiders. If only we all could be so lucky to find such a partner. To honor such a beautiful friendship, I have written a haiku. Enjoy:
Oh Team Rhodes Scholars.
Your time has come far too soon.
I like Cody's stache.
In! Tonight's! Action!
Note: all matches are based on reports from last night's (Feb. 5) taping. The endings will not be given away, but there may be slight spoilers. The card is always subject to change.
Sheamus will be facing Cody Rhodes in Main Event's Main Event. We all know how this match will end. Sometimes, though, it is not the goal but the quest that is most important. If Rhodes Scholars are going to be permanently split, I can take solace in the fact that Cody is facing the big boys of WWE.
Damien Sandow will take on Daniel Bryan in tonight's secondary match. I don't know how much time this will be receiving -- secondary matches tend to be on the short side -- but it should be exciting to watch nonetheless. These are WWE's future stars, and they give me hope for what is coming on down the road.
In a surprising third match -- I don't think I've ever seen Main Event have a third match, but I haven't seen every episode -- Cameron & Naomi will square off against Aksana & Tamina. I'm always one to keep an open mind, so let's see what these women can do with the time.
Hopefully, this has prepared you for the night's festivities. Leave a comment below about what you are looking forward to, and please join the entire CSS Wednesday night gang in the live blog TONIGHT!
