Daily Open Thread for Wednesday, Feb. 6: The Nameless

Here's your Daily Open Thread for Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013. As usual, come discuss whatever your heart desires, or unload the depths of your despair, we are here for you either way, for better or for worse. Whether you get bored at work, have something on your mind, or just want to chat with all your favorite lovely Cagesiders on any topic you want -- even some wrestling!

Yesterday, I shared a song with you from one of the lyrical geniuses of my generation, Mr. Corey Taylor. A song that crawls inside my head and plucks thoughts onto the strings, one which I remembered watching him perform with his Main Stream band Stone Sour at the Family Values Tour back in the day, and just blowing me away.

Then, I promised you that today I would provide you with something from his less main stream band, SlipKnot, which although is not for everyone, is actually full of artistry, innovation, lyrical genius and musical duality.

If you haven't given SlipKnot a chance, I highly suggest you do so; and if you don't care for the tune by the time you get to the 2:30 mark, then perhaps watch this version instead, so that you can try to "get it" without the concert experience possibly distracting you and getting in the way of the brilliance that is there if you look for it.

One last remark about this song, our General Geno Mrosko will kill me for this, but... he is actually a fairly decent guitar player. Furthermore, a little known fact is that he has a fairly decent voice too (when he cares to bust it out). Since we first started co-habitating back in the autumn of 2006, he has dazzled me time and again by singing this song to me. (Yeah, I know, not your typical song for a couple to call their own, but don't worry, he also sings "I Just Want to Be Your Everything" by Andy Gibb to me -- high notes and all).

So there you have it, musical duality in life imitating art.
