Here's your Daily Open Thread for Monday, Feb. 18, 2013:
As usual, come discuss whatever your heart desires, or unload the depths of your despair, we are here for you either way, for better or for worse. Whether you get bored at work, have something on your mind, or just want to chat with all your favorite lovely Cagesiders on any topic you want -- even some wrestling!
Today, same as over the weekend, is the last day I wish to share a video "in memorium", tomorrow I will resume business as usual. This song is one I randomly saw online tonight and I wished I could have shared it with my dear friend Scott, but maybe somewhere, somehow, he knows. As I have mentioned here over the weekend, these videos in his honor are being posted because Scott, a man I love(d) dearly, perished this week on Valentine's Day.
It is he whom I have constantly on my mind, and etched deep within my heart, and whom I yearn for when I hear this song. So, please indulge me: All of you, please just stop what you are doing again today, just for a few minutes, be silent, listen to the song and think of who you might wish you could have spoken to, if you were to find out that they were gone tomorrow.
Then, call them up, fire off a text, a chat, an email, go see them, give them a hug, tell them how they have touched your life. Then you can have a beer and watch some sports and be happy. That is all I ask of you, just those few moments of your time, and that request-- in honor of the loss of my dear friend. Tomorrow we will go back to the Daily OT the way it was before, and I will take off my mourning, emo attitude and try to come hang out with you all again.
Without further ado, I present to you a song by a man who is apparently a brilliant Brazilian artist, Tiago Iorc: "Story of a Man" (Acoustic on a boat) Enjoy ~
Then, after checking that out, you should be sure to scroll on down through the thread, make a comment or two -- or dozens; revisit it throughout the day (and night). You will likely enjoy some of the usual gems from your fellow Cagesiders, including:
Match of the Day, Music Video Link of the day, Babe of the day, Bro of the day, Alison Brie gif of the day, AJ Lee pic of the day, Photo Caption of the Day, and more!
This thread is not guaranteed to cheer up any form of blues you may have; maybe you need a venue to gripe about your work, your boss, your lesser half, the brats, heels or faces in your life, or the general public at large. Or perhaps, this is a place where you can celebrate all the shit that makes you happy in this world and be glad to have another day to properly spend your time with those you love -- No matter what it is, just come chill out with us, regardless.
Give it a go, or comment, or lurk... 'til your heart is content! Lyrics below the line for those who want to follow along...

"Story of a Man"
by ~ Tiago Iorc
you spend most time
trying to figure out why you can never figure out
just what you're trying to figure out
spend more time living
you spend most time
searching for the love that'll be searching for your love
you love to save your love for love
spend more time loving
you spend most time
talking 'bout yourself and how it matters to your self
more than to anybody else
spend more time listening
you spend most time
judging everything as if you ever knew a thing
there's more to things than just one thing
spend more time respecting
you spend most time
worried 'bout what's to say about your silly little ways
isn't that silly, anyway?
spend more time flowing
you spend most time
fussing, bluffing, hating all times
bleeding

Again, today's video post, just like the ones over the weekend, is the last one I will post dedicated in the memory of one of the best men to have walked this planet, a modern-day hero, a man I was proud to call one of my closest friends, even though we had never met "in real life". SBNation, and well, basically just 'aboot' every one who ever met him, was made better for having connected with him. We have all lost a profoundly unique individual, and for that we mourn:
~Scott Paul Shrive - April 24, 1969 - February 14, 2013 ~
We will love you forever and always 'Scottidog'. This one's for you... ((EVERYONE RAISE 'EM UP & TOAST A MOLSON FOR THE BEST CANADIAN TO EVER LIVE, EH!))
We told you that on Monday, Feb. 18, we would link you to a post from MMA Mania that would be designating how members of the SB Nation can contribute to a fund for the widow and children, who are surviving the sudden loss of one of our own...
Contact SBNation user, 'OJR' at this email address: 'orlandojruiz@yahoo.com' if you wish to contribute to the fund we are raising, or if you simply with to contact the family through him, as I am sure he will take the time to convey your condolences to them. Thanks.
