CHIKARA continued its weekend double shot with While the Dawn is Breaking last night (Feb. 10, 2013) from Easton, PA. In a rarity for CHIKARA, all three of the promotion's titles were on the line.
Let's get to it:
- The opening match saw Mr. Touchdown Mark Angelosetti defending the Young Lions Cup against the luchadora intergalactica: Saturyne. Mr. Touchdown retained via suplex cutter.
- Jakob Hammermeier was able to score a huge upset on Gran Akuma, despite being beaten down by Akuma for most of the match.
- Wink Vavasseur, the Director of Fun, brought Solider Ant out to the ring after he walked out on deviANT last night. Vavasseur promised Soldier Ant that he could construct his own team to lead.
- After earning a huge victory last night over Mr. Touchdown, Archibald Peck picked up another win in a match against Tim Donst. Unfortunately for Peck, he picked up the win via DQ when Donst low blowed him. After the match Donst and Veronica Ticklefeather seemed to be in cahoots with one another.
- In six man tag action, F.I.S.T (Sugar Dunkerton, Icarus, and Chuck Taylor) took on the Colony (Fire Ant, Green Ant, and assailANT). The Colony picked up the victory when assailANT submitted Dunkerton with his own twist on the CHIKARA Special. After the match, Dunkerton tried to get back together with Dasher Hatfield but was rejected by the Old Timey King of Swing.
- Kobald was able to pick up a victory over Dasher Hatfield thanks to interference from Delirious.
- In more six man tag action, Jigsaw, Shard, and deviANT squared off with the team of Mike Quackenbush, Hallowicked, and Frightmare. The rudos picked up the victory with a Jig-N-Tonic Double Stomp combo on Frightmare.
- In the Grand Championship match Eddie Kingston was able to retain against Kevin Steen after hitting him with a backfist to the head. After the match Green Ant came out and demanded a title shot. Wink Vavasseur greanted him the shot.
- Ophidian went after some fans in Amasis masks, until Amasis came out and chased him off.
- In the main event of the evening, 3.0 cashed in their points for a title shot at the Campeoñatos de Parejas held by the Young Bucks. As with all matches for the Campeoñatos de Parejas, it was two out of three falls. After losing the first fall, 3.0 would take the next two falls to earn the Campeoñatos de Parejas for the second time in their career.
