Wrestler Wrankings™: 2012-13 Season, Week 45

WrestleMania 29 is fast approaching, and with it, the conclusion of the Wrestler Wrankings season. While there is considerable debate over the significance of momentum in sports, there is certainly value in determining what wrestlers are "hot" as we enter the home stretch. To that end, what follows is the Wrankings Top 10 for the calender year 2013 to date:

1. Alberto Del Rio -- 23 points

2. Sheamus -- 16 points

T3. CM Punk -- 15 points

T3. Antonio Cesaro -- 15 points

T3. Wade Barrett -- 15 points

6. Randy Orton -- 14 points

T7. Ryback -- 13 points

T7. Big Show -- 13 points

T9. John Cena -- 10 points

T9. Rock -- 10 points

What does this list tell me?

Well for one, if you didn't know that Sheamus was an incredibly consistent winner from his lofty status in the actual Wrankings, then this should prove it. Keep in mind that he's not reaping championship bonuses like some on this list are.

Also, it shows how much a single title match can skew things. Granted, the Rock's win over CM Punk for the WWE Title was monumental, but one victory putting you in the Top 10 seems like a stretch worthy of Lord Steven Regal. That's always the danger of a small sample size though, both in wrestling and all of hard statistics.

WWE OR WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE BOUT = 3 POINTS

SUMMERSLAM, SURVIVOR SERIES, ROYAL RUMBLE = 2X BONUS

WRESTLEMANIA = 3X BONUS

The WWE season begins on the day after WrestleMania 28 and culminates with WrestleMania 29. The wrestler who accumulates the most points over the course of the season, wins the coveted Wrankings Championship!
