Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact; so remember to take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- According to numerous reports, Sin Cara is done with WWE. "But wait!" you say, "he was just on Raw Monday night!" Well, you aren't wrong. The original Sin Cara, who was a major star in Mexico under the name Mistico prior to signing with WWE, is the one who is done. Hunico, who previously wrestled as "Sin Cara Negro" and feuded with Sin Cara in 2011, was the one under the Sin Cara mask Monday night, and figures to remain there for the foreseeable future. According to reports, the original Sin Cara (who we will refer to as Mistico from here on out to avoid confusion,) has wanted out of his WWE deal for quite some time now, feeling that his career is going nowhere. Mistico's WWE tenure has been marred by numerous injuries and a complete failure to get over with American audiences. His brief run with Rey Mysterio in a tag team was likely the highlight of his tenure, and rumors indicate that the pair were to have a "passing of the torch" match at WrestleMania 29 but that match did not happen due to Mysterio's most recent knee injury. Based on more recent rumors, it is possible that match happens at WrestleMania XXX, except with Hunico under the Sin Cara mask.
- While it has been suspected for some time now, the long-planned match between Big Show and Triple H is now said to be completely off the table. Despite months of build up, including threatened lawsuits and Big Show forcing his way into a WWE title match at Survivor Series, the angle will be dropped.
- Last winter was a busy time for WWE when it came to calling up new talents from NXT. The period between Survivor Series and WrestleMania 29 saw the likes of the Shield, Big E Langston, and Fandango all called up to the main roster. It is once again suspected that WWE will be busy calling up talent during that same time span this winter. Already, we've seen Xavier Woods make his main roster debut, and if current rumors are to be believed, NXT champion Bo Dallas (who had a very brief run on the main roster last year feuding with Wade Barrett) is one person to expect. Another, more off-the-radar name to watch is Kalisto, formerly known as Samuray Del Sol. Del Sol has yet to make his official NXT "television" debut, but WWE could consider bypassing that step for the talented luchadore.
- WWE is currently teasing trouble between the Bella twins, and it is believed that the two may feud in the near future. WWE has essentially thrown the traditional face/heel dynamic to the wind when it comes to the Divas division of late, preferring to go with a Total Divas vs. everyone else approach, so it is hard to tell who would be what in a Bella vs. Bella feud.
