Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact; so remember to take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Following up on a rumor from last week that John Cena's WrestleMania 30 opponent may end up being Bray Wyatt, it is being said that this match would not "main event" the pay-per-view. (As in, the actual last match of the show.) That spot would almost certainly go to the rumored Randy Orton vs. Batista match for the WWE world heavyweight title should WWE follow through in that direction. And with other matches on the card rumored to include Triple H vs. CM Punk, Daniel Bryan vs. Shawn Michaels, and Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar, it may not even be in the top 4 matches on the show.
  • It has been announced that next week's Raw (Jan. 6, 2014) will be an "old school" episode emphasizing past champions. The superstars shown during the promo on last night's Raw include: Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, Roddy Piper, Diamond Dallas Page, Bob Backlund, Ted DiBiase, Rikishi, Scotty Too Hotty, the New Age Outlaws, Gene Okerland, and Booker T. Whether all of these former superstars will actually appear on the show and what role they'll have if they do is not yet known.
  • Just to tie up any remaining loose ends in regards to the Brock Lesnar returning to UFC, it's not happening. Word is that Lesnar's contract, which runs through WrestleMania 31 next year, prohibits any such return as he is exclusive to WWE until it expires.
  • Speaking of Lesnar, anyone watching last night's Raw via satellite may have missed his beat down of Mark Henry. The USA Network satellite feeds were interrupted and choppy during that segment.
