WWE Royal Rumble 2014 main event match: Randy Orton vs. John Cena

On tonight's (Dec. 30) episode of "Monday Night Raw", Stephanie McMahon officially announced the main event of the "Royal Rumble" pay-per-view set for Jan. 26, 2014, in Pittsburgh.

The WWE world heavyweight championship will be the main event of the Royal Rumble pay-per-view (PPV) on Sun., Jan. 26, 2014, at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Or at least that's what Stephanie McMahon told us on tonight's episode of Monday Night Raw.

That could mean the match goes on after the actual Royal Rumble, as it did last year. Even if it doesn't, this is still considered the main event.

Randy Orton vs. John Cena in a straight up singles match. That's an important thing to note, simply because McMahon made sure to point out as much during her announcement. The winner will come by pinfall or submission only, so presumably there will not be any disqualifications, though it's not clear if that means foreign objects will be in use.

So this is the rematch we were rumored to be getting all along. Everyone happy with it?

Here's the updated Royal Rumble match card:

- Royal Rumble
- Randy Orton vs. John Cena (WWE world heavyweight championship)
