A newsworthy episode of Monday Night Raw this evening opened with the announcement that CM Punk would be wrestling The Shield in a 3-on-1 handicap match at the upcoming WWE TLC pay-per-view (PPV) on Sun., Dec. 15, 2013, at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
He won't be the only one working that particular gimmick match.
No, he'll be joined by his buddy Daniel Bryan, who, later in the show, was booked to battle the Wyatt Family in a handicap match of his own. From WWE.com:
Daniel Bryan has battled the odds his entire career. From being labeled "too short" to run with the big dogs in WWE, to being too unkempt to ever really be the "Face" of the company, the journeyman submission specialist is used to confronting a stacked deck. But Bryan has never seen the odds as debilitating as they will be on Sunday, Dec. 15, when he squares off against all three members of The Wyatt Family at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs, in a 3-on-1 Handicap Match.
Like Punk, this match was made by The Authority, though not with the same general theme that he's still up against them, though that isn't necessarily untrue. It's just not necessarily true, seeing as the Wyatt Family isn't working for the machine like The Shield.
Either way, this is what we're getting. Good or bad thing?
Here's the updated TLC match card and line-up:
- John Cena vs. Randy Orton (TLC match for the WWE and world heavyweight titles)
- CM Punk vs. The Shield (3-on-1 handicap)
- Daniel Bryan vs. The Wyatt Family (3-on-1 handicap)
- Big E. Langston vs. Damien Sandow (Intercontinental championship)
- AJ Lee vs. Natalya (Divas championship)
