WWE TLC 2013 match card: CM Punk vs. The Shield booked for Dec. 15 in Houston

Oh yes, folks, a handicap match has been booked for the WWE "TLC" pay-per-view (PPV) on Dec. 15, 2013, in Houston, Texas, as CM Punk will take on The Shield ... all three of them.

Step aside, Big Show, a real babyface hero is here to save the day. Indeed, it was announced on tonight's episode of Monday Night Raw in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, that CM Punk will take on The Shield in a 3-on-1 handicap match at the upcoming TLC pay-per-view (PPV) on Sun., Dec. 15, 2013, at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

Who made the match? The Authority.

From the WWE.com match preview:

CM Punk will get his chance to bust through The Shield at WWE TLC, though it won't be on a level playing field. The Straight Edge Superstar has the deck stacked against him, as he'll be taking on United States Champion Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns all at once in a 3-on-1 Handicap Match.

Though The Shield made an impact upon their WWE debut one year ago by consistently helping Punk extend his historic WWE Championship reign, the relationship between The Hounds of Justice and The Second City Saint has been anything but friendly in recent weeks.

What this signifies more than anything else is the fact that Big Show may have been cast aside in favor of Punk as the new top babyface going against The Authority. And while Punk vs. The Shield isn't exactly the greatest idea for a PPV encounter, it could be a hell of a lot worse.

Here's the updated TLC match card and line-up:

- John Cena vs. Randy Orton (TLC match for the WWE and world heavyweight titles)
- CM Punk vs. The Shield (3-on-1 handicap)
