Let me begin by putting to rest the incessant internet rumors and speculation.
While it is true that I was at Monday Night RAW this week in Seattle, WA, and that I greatly enjoyed myself, it is not true that I was consulted by Triple H, Stephanie, Kane, or any member of the authority about what is "best for business" on the premises at Key Arena. As for what happened after the show, that is a story for another day.
Also, the modified powerbomb that Sin Cara delivered to Alberto Del Rio was even more devastating looking in person. Despite his appearance at the show closing parade of champions, I would not expect to see our Wrankings leader in action for some time.
Ahem.
Anyways... what a meaty Wrankings oriented main event we will have this Sunday at TLC! WWE Champion Randy Orton against World Heavyweight Champion John Cena. The two most prominent icons of this generation of professional wrestling squaring off with a whopping 12 points going to the winner. Not that the loser is any slouch with 9 points either!
More importantly, as far as the Wrankings go, is the fate of the two championships. If the winner of this epic encounter as allowed to hold both championships is discrete titles, then he will be able to continue to reap double world title bonuses for all subsequent defenses!
If the titles are instead unified into one "undisputed" championship or if one of the titles is simply merged into the other, then it would only count as a single championship and the normal 3 points for a title bout would prevail as the score.
So as you can see, there is a lot at stake on Sunday. Not just in the ring between two surefire Hall of Famers in their prime, but also in the semantics of the actual championship belts and their respective lineages.
Enjoy the match everyone. If Triple H is to be believed, it will definitely and without question be the single greatest experience of your life, but certainly not of his.
